Liu Y et al. found increased fibrosis in CAV2-KO mice following Lewis lung carcinoma tumours implantation, while Yokomori H et al. reported the protein expression of CAV2 significantly increased in cirrhotic liver tissues compared with normal liver.24,46 Of note, in the study of Yokomori H et al., they used the cirrhotic liver tissues from patients with primary biliary cirrhosis, whose bile ducts are badly damaged, contributing to high expression of CAV2. Here, CAV2 is linked to neoplasm.
