We found that TGF-β plasma concentrations (cut off value > 31.6 pg/mL) had a total accuracy of 83% (area under the curve (AUC) of the ROC (95% CI) = 0.83 (0.74–0.93), with 75% sensitivity and 88.9% specificity to diagnose hepatic steatosis. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and fatty liver disease.
