RUNX2 and ocular melanoma: Since compared to other stimulating conditions (HG and OM), the exposure of VIC to HGOM for up to 7 days determined the increased expression of myofibroblast activation marker, α-SMA and the earliest marker of osteogenesis, Runx2, we choose, for further experiments of Runx2 silencing, to expose the cells to HGOM for 5 days before transfection with shRNA-Runx2 plasmids and to assess Runx2 expression at 2 days after transfection.
