Translating these findings from an experimental model of peanut-induced intestinal anaphylaxis in mice to PA children, we now demonstrate, for the first time, that CYP11A1 mRNA and protein expression were significantly increased in activated, but not in non-activated, peripheral blood CD4+ T cells from PA children compared to controls and expression levels of CYP11A1 mRNA were correlated to levels of IL-13. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and anaphylaxis.
