EIF4E and cancer: This phenomenon is comparable to the target gene expression control of c‐Myc, the well‐known transcription factor, in which the c‐Myc oncogene regulates the expression of eIF4F components, which in turn regulate c‐Myc mRNA translation, establishing a positive feedforward loop for deregulation of translational control and aberrant growth in cancer cells (Lin et al., 2009).
