In the phase III FLAURA trial, a randomized, double‐blinded trial comparing osimertinib with first‐generation EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR‐TKIs), the median progression‐free survival (PFS) in patients with EGFR‐mutated (exon 19 deletion or L858R) lung cancer was significantly longer when treated with osimertinib than when treated with first‐generation EGFR‐TKIs (18.9 months vs. 10.2 months, respectively). Here, EGFR is linked to lung carcinoma.
