By contrast, the independent factors associated with OS at t1 were post-TACE albumin < 35 g/L (arbitrary cut-off) 22 vs 30 months HR 1.5 (95% CI 1.1–2.2, p = 0.02), post TACE AFP < 100 ng/mL (arbitrary cut-off) 29 vs 12 months HR 0.65 (95% CI 0.45–0.93, p = 0.02) and absence of development of ascites (28 vs 17 months, HR 0.43, 95% CI 0.27–0.68, p <  0.001).
