These results highlighted striking differences in HtrA3 content in epithelial and stromal compartments between tumor core, invasive front, and tumor budding area [44,64], and revealed that a higher stromal HtrA3 presence in tumor core was correlated with a high-grade tumor budding and poorer outcome of patients with II stage CRC [64]. The gene discussed is HTRA3; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
