Our findings on dithranol’s effect on members of the IL-1 family, being beneficial for its anti-psoriatic efficacy, are well in line with recent work on blockade of IL-36 pathway as a novel strategy for the treatment of pustular psoriasis (Bachelez et al., 2019) as well as plaque-type psoriasis (Benezeder and Wolf, 2019; Mahil et al., 2017). This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and pustular psoriasis.
