Besides the in vivo models, we also determined the effects of CRAMP supplementation in neonatal rat cardiomyocytes (NRCMs), treated with AngII, and we observed that CRAMP could suppress pathological cardiac hypertrophy, as indicated by decreased cardiomyocytes size and mRNA expression levels of ANP and BNP (Figure 6). The gene discussed is NPPA; the disease is cardiac hypertrophy.
