METTL3 and liver cancer: As shown in Figure 3B-E, transient transfection with Mettl3-WT, but not Mettl3-KR, promoted cell growth/proliferation, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and viability, while decreasing apoptosis in liver cancer, indicating that Mettl3 SUMOylation is essential for its oncogenic properties.
