Mandibuloacral dysplasia (MADA; OMIM, 248370) is a laminopathy that is characterized by lipodistrophy, skeletal abnormalities, metabolic alterations, and postnatal growth retardation [178], and it is due to mutations in LMNA that are responsible for the accumulation of the lamin A precursor [178]. The gene discussed is LMNA; the disease is laminopathy.
