More than 100 biomarkers have been proposed to be useful for the detection of sepsis and the predication of mortality.[6] Based on recent studies, four biomarkers (pentraxin 3 (PTX3), interleukin 6 (IL6), procalcitonin (PCT), and lactate) were selected from a large pool of potential biomarker candidates for the validation of their prognostic value. Here, PTX3 is linked to Sepsis.
