However, pre-treatment with silymarin or EADL, at the doses of 250 and 500 mg/kg, was found to reverse the toxic effect of PCM by causing a significant (p < 0.05) increase in the activities of liver’s CAT and SOD when compared to the PCM-intoxicated group (Group 2) indicating the ability of EADL to trigger hepatoprotective activity partly via the activation of endogenous enzymatic antioxidant system.
