In COVID‐19, it has been reported that patients being treated on intensive care units (ICU's) have higher plasma levels of interleukin‐2 (IL‐2), IL‐7, IL‐10, granulocyte‐colony stimulating factor, interferon γ‐inducible protein‐10, monocyte chemoattractant protein‐1, macrophage inflammatory protein‐1A, and tumor necrosis factor‐α (TNF‐α) compared to non‐ICU patients.2 This evidence concerns the gene TNF and COVID-19.
