At the overall analysis, The IL-6 174G/C (rs1800795) gene polymorphism was insignificantly associated with osteoporosis vulnerability in four genetic model comparisons (allele model: OR = 1.09, 95% CI: 0.90–1.33, additive model: OR = 0.89, 95% CI: 0.64–1.24, dominant model: OR = 1.03, 95% CI: 0.83–1.28 and recessive model: OR = 0.81, 95% CI: 0.60–1.09), (as shown in Table 5 and Figs. 2, 3). Here, IL6 is linked to osteoporosis.
