Magnesium-zinc-calcium-vitamin D co-supplementation in the patients with PCOS showed that there is an association between such a co-supplementation and a significant improvement in insulin levels, quantitative insulin sensitiveness check index (QUICKI), inflammatory markers, decrease in plasma triglycerides, total cholesterol and VLDL-cholesterol and homeostatic model of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), without any significant influence on the level of fasting glucose, HDL-cholesterol, and LDL-cholesterol [14]. The gene discussed is INS; the disease is Insulin resistance.
