Nevertheless, a possible benefit in the recovery of cancerous skin lesions for evening primrose oil (EPO) was discussed in the study by Ramesh et al. They showed that, in an animal model of two stage skin carcinogenesis, EPO significantly inhibited the formation of papilloma in the promotion stage of the model, and was even assigned to the inhibition of the binding of benzo(a)-pyrene to the DNA of skin cells and to an increased lipid peroxidation process [59].
