After eight weeks of daily intake of red orange juice (750 mL of orange juice per day), significant increase in serum antioxidant activity and reduction in the levels of C-reactive protein, TC (total cholesterol), and LDL-C (low-density lipoproteins-cholesterol) were observed in individuals of both normal weight and overweight/obese groups, along with significant reduction of diastolic blood pressure observed in overweight or obese individuals, while systolic blood pressure, fasting insulin levels, and insulin resistance were significantly reduced in normal weight individuals. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and Insulin resistance.
