The pooled SMD reached 8.88 (95% CI: 5.96–11.81; P < 0.001) using the random effects model (Figure 3(a)), indicating that ATAD2 is significantly overexpressed in HCC, which was based on its high percentage of amplification (68/110, 61.8%) and mRNA upregulation (31/110, 28.2%) in genetic alterations from cBioPortal (Figure S2B). The gene discussed is ATAD2; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
