Interestingly, the authors showed that CD133+ cells gave rise solely to ectoderm, indicating the contribution of these cells to neural differentiation, consistent with our KEGG results that the upregulated genes in CD133 KO hESCs enriched for long-term depression (P value = 0.0234) and Alzheimer’s disease (P value = 0.0888, data not shown).
