Taking advantage of the conservation of genes of the EGFR and PI3K pathways, preclinical glioma models have been made in Drosophila melanogaster – a powerful in-vivo genetic model system (Gao et al., 2000; Read, 2011; Waghmare et al., 2014; Cheng et al., 2016; Chen and Read, 2019). This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and central nervous system cancer.
