Though studies have already shown that SOX2 induction by FGF and FGFR2 activation inhibits osteoblast differentiation (Mansukhani et al., 2005), we propose that FGFR inhibition can also be an effective scheme for indirect inhibition of SOX2 in pancreatic cancer. This evidence concerns the gene FGFR2 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
