In this study, analysis of 4-month-old 5XFAD/TNFΔARE/+ mice that develop an AD-like phenotype, revealed a significant decrease of Thioflavine-S positive plaques and Αβ deposition in mouse brains compared to the 5XFAD controls, suggesting that the modification of the 3′UTR of the muTNF-α endogenous gene, exerts a protective effect against amyloid deposition in the brain. The gene discussed is PPIB; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
