Tectonic proteinsincluding TCTN1, TCTN2, and TCTN3 are important component proteins residing atthe transition zone (TZ) of cilia,45 and these are necessary for transduction of the SHH signaling pathway, asrevealed by abnormal processing of GLI3 in patient cells.46 Therefore, we confirmed whether tectonic and HH signalingpathway–related, including TCTN3, were reduced by C militaris. The expression of the tectonic proteins TCTN2 and key proteins of the HHsignaling pathway, including PTCH1, GLI2, and GLI3, was reduced in Cmilitaris–treated NSCLC cells (Figure 2A, Smoothened signaling, 18genes). This evidence concerns the gene TCTN3 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
