Many studies and data have established and demonstrated the hCA IX overexpression in various human hypoxic tumor types, such as ductal carcinoma in situ [7]; head and neck squamous cell [8], non-small cell lung [9], ovarian [10], and bladder [11] cancers; cervical [12] and nasopharyngeal [13] carcinomas, brain tumors [14], liver metastases in colorectal cancer [15], etc. Moreover, the hCA IX expression in tumors may occur as a consequence of inactivating process of pVHL (von Hippel-Lindau) tumor suppressor mutation [3], what is represented primarily by the clear renal cell carcinoma [16,17].
