Proteomics studies on AD brains reveal that enzymes involved in metabolic pathways of the Kreb’s cycle and glycolysis including malate dehydrogenase, glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), fructose-bis-phosphate-enolase, alpha-enolase (ENO1), and ATP synthase are oxidized [46]. This evidence concerns the gene ENO1 and Alzheimer disease.
