TNF-alpha is synthesized by lymphocytes, active macrophages, fibroblasts, and endothelium cells, causing inflammation, vascular thrombus development, tumor necrosis, synthesis of acute-phase reactants from the liver, cachexia, and fever, whereas TNF-beta is secreted from primary T lymphocytes and displays effects resembling those of TNF-alpha but only weaker [3, 4].
