At 6 months only MMP-8 was significantly below the level observed at OSA diagnosis, but a similar tendency for a decrease could be observed for MMP-9 as well (146 (54–276 [95% CI 54–276]) vs. 287 (170–560 [95% CI 226–403]) pg/mL at baseline, p = 0.018 and 8.1 (4.7–13.6 [95% CI 4.7–13.6]) vs. 12.7 (10.4–15.6 [95% CI 10.8–15.0]) ng/mL at baseline, p = 0.083, respectively). The gene discussed is MMP9; the disease is obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.
