In recent studies, some researchers16, 17 have tested the levels of SDF‐1 and its association with CXCR4 in the synovium of rheumatoid arthritis patients who were being treated with golimumab, and the results demonstrated that the SDF‐1/CXCR4 axis is closely correlated with disease activity and joint destruction. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL12 and rheumatoid arthritis.
