EZH2 and cancer: The regulation of amino acid metabolism by EZH2 is mainly reflected in two aspects, which are as follows: (1) inactivated mutation of EZH2 can upregulate glutamine metabolism, which fuels the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, nucleotide and fatty acid biosynthesis, and redox balance in cancer cells [5, 57], and (2) EZH2 promotes the synthesis of s-adenosine methionine (SAM), which alters the epigenetic patterns by affecting the transport of one carbon unit [58].
