FOXA2 and cancer: In line with the previous illustrated results of Pdx1 in PDAC are results of an upstream regulator of Pdx1. The gene Foxa2 is a critical regulator of EMT, and thus loss-and-gain studies revealed suppressed expression in the process of EMT by break-down of adherents junctions via regulation of E-cadherin, but Foxa2 expression is re-activated in well-differentiated cancer cells.
