As PCa cells sense CCL5 and other chemokines, such as C-X-C motif chemokine 12 (CXCL12) produced by BMSCs and osteocytes, PCa cells stimulate osteocytes to secrete growth-derived factors 10 and 15 (GDF10 and GDF15) that can push PCa cells secreting early growth response 1 (EGR1) and parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP), two important factors for osteoclastogenesis [2,67,68]. The gene discussed is CXCL12; the disease is posterior cortical atrophy.
