CD4 and folate deficiency: Pregnant women with gastrointestinal symptoms and CD4 count <350 were seven times more likely to have folate deficiency (odds ratio [OR] 7.8, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.6–38.1; p = 0.009) and six times more likely to have poor zinc intake (OR 6.7, 95% CI 1.3–36.8; p = 0.014).
