Moreover, attenuation of TH-responsive reporter activity in PTU-treated and in Dio2-deficient cardiomyocytes, as well as TAC-induced cardiac hypertrophy in PTU chow-fed WT mice, collectively provide additional credence to the notion that PTU-dependent inhibition of Dio2 activity is intimately linked to attenuation of TAC-induced cardiomyocyte growth.
