LMNA and cancer: Mitotic catastrophe can be described as cell death that occurs during mitosis or as a consequence of mitotic failure,31 which, additionally has been recognised as an important anti-cancer strategy.32 We assessed three markers to determine mitotic catastrophe; lamin staining of the nuclear envelope, phalloidin staining of the actin cytoskeleton and tubulin staining of the cytoskeleton (Fig. 4a, b and Supplementary Fig. 3A and B).
