This study is the first report about the landscape of germline BRCA1 and BRCA2 PVs in a large cohort of patients affected by breast and ovarian cancer coming from the Central–South Italy, where, as recently published by Capoluongo et al. [59], it is quite probable to identify founder variants also in subjects belonging to apparently unrelated families. The gene discussed is BRCA1; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
