Among G2 runners, 92% showed very high levels of CRP values over the cutoff (> 5 mg/L), which is associated with an independent predictor of AKI (Tang et al., 2018), and 83% of them showed high increase levels of creatinine (≥ 0.3 mg/dl), which is associated with AKI stage 1 (McCullough et al., 2011). Here, CRP is linked to acute kidney injury.
