FAS and cancer: In addition to receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) described below (see paragraph III-2), src-family kinases (SFKs) can phosphorylate tyrosines in CD95 leading to the inhibition of the apoptotic program and these phosphorylation marks might serve as poor prognostic markers in several types of cancer, including breast, ovarian, and colon cancers (Chakrabandhu et al., 2016).
