Zhang et al. [55] found that pharmacological inhibition of de novo ceramide synthesis, using the SPT inhibitor myriocin, and heterozygous deletion of dihydroceramide desaturase prevented hypertension in mice after high-fat feeding, and Swendeman et al. [64] reported that the administration of a soluble carrier of S1P, ApoM-Fc, reduced blood pressure in hypertensive mice. This evidence concerns the gene AGXT and hypertensive disorder.
