PHLDB3 is the least studied protein in this family, as there has been only one published implication in development of non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) as a novel fusion protein with fibroblast growth factor receptor discovered in a single patient sample out of 26,054 NSCLC samples screened using a hybrid capture–based comprehensive genomic profiling [30]. The gene discussed is PHLDB3; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
