By reviewing the inflammatory features and current promising treatments of COVID-19 as well as cardiovascular anti-inflammatory therapies that have been verified in clinical trials with positive results, we believed that targeting the central pathway (IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-6), balancing the Th1 and Th2 response, and administering long-term anti-inflammatory therapy should be considered as promising strategies to control cardiovascular impairment or even MODS during the acute and recovery phases of COVID-19. The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is COVID-19.
