Emerging evidences suggested that HMGB1/TLR4/NF-κB signaling was firmly associated with the activation of HSCs as well as the synthesis of ECM, and inhibition of HMGB1 could significantly reduce inflammatory response and ameliorate liver fibrosis (Luedde and Schwabe, 2011; Li et al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene TLR4 and Hepatic fibrosis.
