As shown in Fig. 7, ERG-positive prostate tumors indicated decreased levels of some proteins involved in mitochondrial β-oxidation; carnitine palmitoyltransferase 2 (CPT2) (p = 0.018), peroxisomal protein enoyl-CoA (EHHADH) (p < 0.0001) and long-chain-fatty-acid-CoA ligase 1 (ACSL1) (p = 0.215), but increased levels of carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1A (CPT1) (p = 0.021) in comparison to ERG-negative prostate tumors. This evidence concerns the gene ERG and prostate neoplasm.
