In their investigation of genetic factors influencing the development of diabetes and CHD, Osman et al. (2020) found out that all patients who suffered from CHD were also diabetic and that the most frequent association variant for CHD was the rs264 single nucleotide polymorphisms in the LPL gene, a gene which encodes the lipoprotein lipase (odds ratio for allele A: 1.96, p = 0.009). Here, LPL is linked to coronary artery disorder.
