We investigated the potential of reticulocalbin, calumenin and ERC-55 as diagnostic markers, initially in the SW480 cellular model and then for two of them in confirmatory analyses with CRC patient tissue samples from: (i) the central part of the tumor and (ii) the peripheral part of the tumor as well as (iii) a tumor free part of the colon. This evidence concerns the gene RCN2 and colorectal carcinoma.
