Receiver operating characteristic curves to evaluate the diagnostic performance of CSF CCL24 levels for neurosyphilis yielded an area under curve (AUC) of 0.791 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.6867‐0.8974, P < .0001; Figure 4A); the optimal cutoff value was 1.49 pg/mL, with a sensitivity of 76.09% (95% CI 0.6123‐0.8741) and a specificity of 74.19% (95% CI 0.5539‐0.8814). This evidence concerns the gene CCL24 and neurosyphilis.
