It has been demonstrated that NUAK1 could represent an attractive target for treatment of MYC-driven cancers.80–82 Deregulated level of the transcription factor MYC is also reported in breast cancer83 thus it is possible that MYC could influence the miR-622/NUAK1 pathway in breast cancers, providing a rationale for target therapy. This evidence concerns the gene NUAK1 and breast carcinoma.
