In conclusion, our results support the view that activation of the JAK2-STAT2 pathway drives the development of obesity, insulin resistance, associated end-organ injury and, most notably, highlights the potential repurposing of JAK inhibitors already approved for rheumatoid arthritis as promising treatment options in the clinical context of metabolic diseases.
