The discrepancy between the two cohorts was justified by the reports that TP53 mutations were identified in approximately 30%–40% of patients with primary breast cancer in western countries.4, 21, 22, 23 It may be related to the proportion of patients in stage III + IV (28.5% in GDPH cohort vs. 6.4% in METABRIC cohort). Here, TP53 is linked to breast carcinoma.
